reclaim the top of the standings


RB Leipzig lost 0-1 to Borussia Moenchengladbach so that they failed to reclaim the top position of the standings, in the sixth week of the German League which was played at Borussia Park, Moenchengladbach, Saturday local time (Sunday morning WIB). Leipzig entered its sixth week as top of the table, but they were kicked out by Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund who played early, and were unable to avenge the two giants because of being beaten by Gladbach, according to the official German League website.

The only goal in the match was recorded by Hannes Wolf in the 60th minute. Leipzig is now stuck in third place with 13 points, while Gladbach has moved up to fourth with 11 points

Leipzig who were determined to secure the three points to return to the top to start the match aggressively. Forward Yussuf Poulsen forced goalkeeper Yann Sommer to make a save on the match's first clean chance.

Alexander Sorloth almost provided anassist for Poulsen, but the Dane failed to reach the pass that was made for him. Gladbach tried to threaten just before halftime, but Breel Embolo and Alassane Plea had already been caught offside. In the middle of the second half, Gladbach was able to break the deadlock.

Patrick Herrmann followed Plea's cross for Wolf, who turned the ball into the far corner of the Leipzig goal. It was Wolf's first goal in the German League, as well as a goal against the owner team. Despite being left behind, Leipzig refused to give up. Amadou Haidara tested goalkeeper Yann Sommer before Sorloth fired a deflected shot over the crossbar. The visitors continued to press on with the remaining time, but they failed to score an equalizer.
