The first appearance of Liverpool's new player, Thiago Alcantara with the Reds, was marked by an individual record in the Premier League and played a part in humiliating Chelsea despite only playing for 45 minutes. The former Bayern Munich midfielder became the player with the most passes (75 times) in the English Premier League during that half time. The player who was carried off with a value of 25 million pounds (around Rp.476 billion) was able to carve a record even though he only played in the second half when Liverpool beat ten Chelsea players with a final score of 2-0. Senegalese striker Sadio Mane bagged two of the winning goals in that match. Although he only joined on Saturday, Thiago was seen immediately into Liverpool's game after replacing the injured Reds captain Jordan Henderson. Although in defense, Thiago was just getting used to it when he fouled Timo Werner in the penalty box. But fortunately Joginho's penalty was pushed over by Alisson, so that his mistake did not spoil his debut. Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said he was happy with the Spanish midfielder's first appearance with his squad. "He needs to get used to his team-mates, but when they are one man short it becomes the perfect game for him," Klopp said after the match. "I really like his game. Defensively it was difficult for him, but offensively, with the ball, that's the way he plays, he wants to pass the ball. Everything he did today was very natural."
